Grapefruit is a text font based on an inky, Jannon printed with metal type that I found in a 1970s yogurt cookbook. So many Jannons and Garamonds I see remove the quirks from older cuts like the back tilted a, and the long tails on the b and d. I wanted to maintain that charm that drew me to it in the first place as best as I could, as well as the roundness and low contrast from the printing. The initial goal for this was to use in a personal cookbook project.
I have an italic started and am still shaping it out.
I also plan to add swash caps, but only have a handful started.
I am getting close to done with this font, currently working on accents, fractions, and italics.
